Long have I desired to look upon the kings of old,

To walk the well-worn path their ancient stories told.

But grief holds captive, bound with heavy weight;

While sorrow rends with fear to claim our broken fate.

Yet, their shadows pierce the darkness dwelling there,

Though dusk would claim the throne, resolve defies despair.

So, though the darkness grasp with outstreched withered hand,

Always may the truth be etched upon the hearts of man.

If I should fall, let the falling be carved like stone;

If I should cross, let that crossing sing -

they do not walk alone.
